Mabel Oboh’s NGO signs Health Insurance Scheme deal for entertainers and supporters.
Seasoned actress and broadcaster, Mabel Oboh made history when her Non Governmental Orginazation - Mabel Oboh Centre for Save Our Stars (MOCSOS) signed a health insurance scheme deal with an insurance company to help entertainers and supporters enjoy quality healthcare service all year round in Nigeria and beyond. The insurance scheme is being packaged to benefit Nigerian entertainers who often go cap in hand to beg for financial assistance whenever they are down with one ailment or the other.
The seasoned actress last December had promised to roll out an insurance scheme for entertainers which kicked off earlier this year with the signing of the healthcare partnership deal with Ronsberger Insurance Company at the company’s headquarters in Lagos. Speaking after the signing of the deal, Mabel Oboh expressed happiness that her dream has come true. According to her, “In the history of the Nigerian entertainment industry, this is the first time an entertainer can independently take health insurance without being a member of any association or group. In most cases, the fees are usually not affordable let alone having health insurance. MOCSOS is so proud. We have made the impossible possible. For once, Nigerian entertainers have the choice to care for themselves without breaking the bank”.
Mabel Oboh said, having access to medical care will automatically put an end to the incessant deaths ravaging the entertainment industry in recent times. She, however, called on the government at various levels, corporate bodies, well-meaning Nigerians and the international bodies to support this noble project to achieve its desired goal.
Speaking further, MOCSOS founder said the NGO is targeting a reasonable enrollment comprising musicians, actors, dancers, journalists, comedians and sportsmen and women with a projection to reducing drastically the health issues among the entertainers in this country.
Also speaking, the HMO of Ronsberger, Mr. Daniel Oyeyemi said his company decided to sign the contract with NGO because they believe in the vision, mission and the objective of the NGO. “The NGO’s vision also fits into our own vision in making sure that we provide universal access to healthcare to all Nigerians for a token of fees”.

This is really a dream come true, not only for me, but also for the Nigeria entertainment industry and the common man as well. Mocsos partnership with Ronsberger Hmo has thrown a perfect light into solving the health problems in Nigeria. Who can beat an affordable and accessible healthcare... Mabel Oboh
